Salmon with Kecap Manis

Let’s cook together Salmon with Kecap Manis. Whether grilled to perfection or baked to tender perfection, this dish promises to elevate any dining experience with its irresistible combination of Flavors and textures.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 salmon fillets  Tasmanian Salmon  - Ora King Salmon ) 
  • 1/4 cup kecap manis sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

    RECIPE 

    1. In a bowl, mix together the kecap manis, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, lime juice, and sesame oil to create the marinade or Costi's sauce.
    2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring that each fillet is coated evenly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
    3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or preheat your oven to  (200°C).
    4. If grilling, lightly oil the grill grate. If baking, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease it.
    5. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
    6. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper to taste.
    7. If grilling, place the salmon fillets on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
    8. If baking, place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
    9. Once cooked, remove the salmon fillets from the grill or oven and transfer them to a serving platter.
    10. Garnish the salmon fillets with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
    11. Serve the salmon fillets hot, accompanied by your favourite side dishes such as steamed rice and sautéed vegetables.
