INGREDIENTS

  • 12 large frozen scallops, thawed & patted dry
  • 6 slices streaky bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika
  • Toothpicks (soaked in water 10 min)
  • Optional: lemon wedges, fresh parsley, or honey glaze

RECIPE

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil.

2. Prepare Scallops

  • Thaw scallops in the fridge overnight or under cold water.

  • Pat very dry with paper towels to ensure even cooking.

3. Wrap in Bacon

  • Season scallops with garlic powder and paprika.

  • Wrap each scallop with ½ slice of bacon.

  • Secure with a toothpick.

4. Bake

  • Place bacon-wrapped scallops on the prepared tray.

  • Drizzle or brush lightly with olive oil.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until bacon is crisp and scallops are opaque.

For extra crispiness, broil (grill) for the last 2–3 minutes.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon, chopped parsley, or a honey-soy glaze.
